Our flock of sheep is a blend of Finn, Merino, and Texel sheep. Texel sheep originated on the island of Texel in the Netherlands, and product very muscular, lean, and mild tasting meat. We lamb in late April/early May when the pasture starts coming in so that the ewes can immediately benefit from the fresh forage for their lactation, and the lambs being nibbling grass within days of being born. Our lambs never receive any grain, as it is unnatural for their digestion. All of our lambs are at least 1/2 Texel and gain beautifully on lush grass.
